If you want the best mobile under ₹15,000 in India right now, buy the Infinix Note 50X 5G for all-round performance or the Tecno Pova 7 5G if you game and want a sharper screen. If battery life matters more than speed, the Redmi A7 Pro 5G is the safer pick. All six phones below support 5G and, at the time of writing, sell at or under ₹15,000 (prices as of 30 October 2026).

One thing has changed this year: many budget phones now sell for more than their launch price. Popular picks such as the Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G, Galaxy A07 5G and Realme C83 5G have drifted above ₹15,000, so they are not on this list. Our picks are based on specs, reviews and our research, not on long-term hands-on testing.

1. Infinix Note 50X 5G: best overall under ₹15,000

The Note 50X uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultimate, the fastest chip on this list and one usually found in phones that cost a few thousand rupees more. Pair that with 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, a 120Hz screen and 45W charging, and it is the most balanced phone here.

It launched in March 2025 at ₹11,499, so it is not new, and the 6/128 variant is going in and out of stock. If it is unavailable, the 8/128 model was listed at ₹14,999 on Flipkart. Infinix promises 2 Android upgrades and 3 years of security patches, which is modest.

  • Buy it if: you want the smoothest everyday performance and fast charging.

  • Skip it if: you need a Full HD screen or long software support.

2. Tecno Pova 7 5G: best for gaming

The Pova 7 uses the same Dimensity 7300 Ultimate chip but gives you 8GB RAM in the base model and the only Full HD+ display on this list, with a 144Hz refresh rate. It has a 6,000mAh battery with 45W wired charging, and Tecno also lists 30W wireless charging, which is rare at this price.

The weak spot is software support: reviews report 1 Android upgrade and 2 years of security patches . It launched in July 2025.

  • Buy it if: you play games like BGMI and want a sharper, faster screen.

  • Skip it if: you plan to keep the phone for four years or more.

3. Redmi A7 Pro 5G: best battery life and software support

The Redmi A7 Pro is a 2026 phone (launched 13 April) built around a 6,300mAh battery and a large 6.9-inch 120Hz screen. Its Unisoc T8300 chip is entry-level, so it is fine for WhatsApp, YouTube and UPI apps but not for heavy gaming. Charging is slow at 15W.

Its big advantage is support: Xiaomi is reported to promise 4 Android upgrades and 6 years of security patches. It also has IP52 splash resistance and runs HyperOS 3 on Android 16. It launched at ₹12,499 and now sells for about ₹14,490 at Reliance Digital.

  • Buy it if: you are buying for a parent or a light user who wants a phone that lasts.

  • Skip it if: you want speed or a good camera.

4. Mivi One 5G: best for clean, ad-free Android

Mivi, the Hyderabad-based audio brand, launched its first smartphone in September 2026, and it went on sale on Flipkart on 8 October. It runs stock Android 16 with no bloatware, which is unusual at this price. Inside is a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL main camera and a 6,000mAh battery with 18W charging.

Sources disagree on the screen’s refresh rate (90Hz vs 120Hz), and the launch prices reported differ between outlets. It is also a first-generation phone from a new brand, so service-centre reach is unproven.

  • Buy it if: you hate pre-installed apps and ads.

  • Skip it if: you want a proven after-sales network.

5. Poco C85x 5G: big battery for less

The Poco C85x shares most of its hardware with the Redmi A7 Pro: the same Unisoc T8300, 6.9-inch 120Hz screen, 6,300mAh battery and 15W charging. It is sold mainly on Flipkart and usually costs a little less than the Redmi. We could not find an official update policy for it, which is why the Redmi ranks higher.

  • Buy it if: you want the Redmi A7 Pro’s battery at a lower price.

  • Skip it if: long-term updates matter to you.

6. Lava Bold N2 5G: a made-in-India option with IP64

Lava’s Bold N2 (launched in June 2026) offers a 6,000mAh battery, 18W charging, Android 16 and IP64 dust and water resistance. Its Unisoc T8200 chip and 13MP camera are the weakest here, so treat it as a dependable basic phone rather than an all-rounder. Lava’s service-at-home offer is worth checking before you buy.

  • Buy it if: you want a basic, sturdy 5G phone from an Indian brand.

  • Skip it if: photos matter to you.

How to choose a phone under ₹15,000?

Here the most important features you must look for while buying a smartphone:

  • Chipset first

The gap between a Dimensity 7300 and a Unisoc T8300 is large; you will feel it in app switching and gaming. Our Snapdragon vs MediaTek explainer covers how to read chip names.

  • Screen

Every phone here uses an LCD panel, and only the Pova 7 is Full HD+. If you want AMOLED, you will usually need to spend more; see our AMOLED vs LCD guide.

  • Updates

Promises range from 1 OS upgrade (Pova 7) to a reported 4 (Redmi A7 Pro). If you keep phones for years, this matters more than an extra 1GB of RAM.
